A brand-new Tomb Raider movie hits theaters March 16, 2018. The storyline follows Lara Croft, when she sets out on her first expedition to finish her father’s archaeological research and uncover ancient secrets in order to clear his disgraced name. Tragedy hits when her adventure turns into a fight for survival.
Oscar-winning The Danish Girl and Ex Machina star Alicia Vikander will play the role of Lara and the featured images below offer the first look at Vikander running, climbing, jumping, and otherwise engaging in the sort of intense, fast-paced action that’s a hallmark of the franchise and the adventures of its intrepid protagonist. Also, the look seems pretty close to that of the character’s in the 2013 reboot of the game franchise. The movie is currently filmed in South Africa.
The cast will also feature stars such as Dominic West (as Lord Richard Croft), Walton Goggins (as Father Mathias Vogel), Daniel Wu (as Lu Ren) and Leo Ashizawa (as Alex Ren) and others.
